I do not have four years of IT experience, but I have a CCNA, CASP+, and Sec+. I am a 25E, and I’m trying to submit my packet for 255A. Is having these certificates good enough for the board? Or I need to get another certificates?

Simple answer: No.

However, it does meet one of the non-waiverable requirements - hold a DoD 8570.1M IAT Level II or IAM/IASAE Level I certification (which any of them do).

The complete requirements you must me are detailed on the recruiting page*.

I had an infantry SFC do this. He had all the certs that he would have received from the training. He was picked up for WO. I have never heard of anything like ever happening. I am sure there was a high demand and he demonstrated that he could do it.

How long ago was this Eric? I believe there have been modification to the requirements and what is waverable/non-waiverable over the last 10 years since the 255A was stood up.

However, to your point, there is no harm in asking about the requirements.

SFC (Join to see), if you want to confirm, contact CW4 Chambers (USAR Program Manager for the Proponent) or one of the other POCs listed in the above link.

I had an NCO in this situation. He basically had all the certs that he would have obtained in the training for 255A. He spoke to their Branch Manager and got picked up. I am not sure what certs he had but the requirements are to establish the base knowledge required for that occupation. He was able to demonstrate this. He was an 11B SFC. It was way out there but he did it. I would try to reach out to them to see if they have waiver some requirement.
