MAINTENANCE PLANNER/SCHEDULER

Fermilab’s Facilities Engineering Services Section (FESS) is seeking a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join the team. Under the direction of FESS Facilities Building and Support Systems management, and based on extensive experience, craft knowledge, trade practices and expertise in an assigned maintenance area, provides sophisticated maintenance support for the planning and scheduling activities of maintenance crafts and utilities / engineering personnel for all site areas at the Fermilab complex.

You will

Review corrective/preventive/predictive work for planning and scheduling in their assigned craft areas and provides time estimates and priorities to ensure backlog determination.
Channelize and develop critical work path to ensure schedule compliance and efficiency.
Coordinate parts and material acquisitions for planned work between the Store Room personnel and/or vendors concerning parts needs, status, tracking and follow-up. Procure based on life cycle cost.
Maintain asset reliability to ensure customer demands are met, supervise PM maintenance efficiency. Mean time between interruption, to repair and overall equipment efficiency. (MTBI, MTTR, and OEE).
Demonstrate maintenance costs against system reliability.
Resolve work plans based upon site-wide field trips, priority, available work force, and other criteria. Reviews plans and schedules with associated craft supervisors.
Source required rigging, lifts and cranes. Identify scaffolding needs and safe alternatives to perform assigned work.
Review with supervision any ES&H Hazard Analysis Work Permit requirements for planned work. Audit newly introduced processes and equipment for potential hazards, develop safe plan of action (SPA’s)
Collaborate with customers, building managers, and division technical personnel when vital and assists in developing and providing the daily, weekly, monthly, and longer term plans and schedules to building managers and the department management team
Compile all pertinent specification sheets, drawings, bill of materials from previous work and work history in the Work Order package
Verify shutdown work plans have been accurately entered into the Accelerator Division electronic work schedule data base
Schedule and chair shutdown planning and communication meetings as assigned. Utilize Gantt charts to control work flow, outage breakthroughs and improve maintenance efficiencies.
Maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management System “FAMIS” Ensure data and maintenance activities are complete and accurately maintained in our CMMS
Maintain non-CMMS planning and scheduling records related to work activities on equipment or processes. Resolve corrective actions based upon business metrics and key process indicators (KPIs).
Integrate and/or assists in ensuring that environmental, safety and health requirements are included in work plans.
Function as a backup planner / scheduling resource to planning and scheduling work group

We are looking for

High School Diploma or equivalent with 5+ plus years of experience post trade school.
Maintenance craft "hands on" experience in Mechanical and Electrical
5-10 years of direct planning and scheduling is preferred.
Relocation is not available for this position.

Ability to qualify for work in Oxygen Deficiency Hazard (ODH) designated areas as well as radiological controlled areas.
Ability to work in confined, elevated spaces and high noise areas.
Physically fit to access equipment and site locations, including the ability to bend, climb stairs/ladders, crawl, twist and walk.
Personal Protective Equipment: Eye/Face Protection, Foot Protection, Hand Protection, Hard Hat and Hearing Protection
