Marketing and Social Media Manager (Warrior Writers)

Warrior Writers is seeking a Marketing and Social Media Manager to join our team.Warrior Writers is a community of military veterans, service members, artists, allies, and healers dedicated to creativity and wellness. We use writing, painting, photography, and a host of other mediums to reflect on our experiences and express them creatively. Warrior Writers is a national non-profit organization, based in Philadelphia, with members and activities across the country. We are searching for a candidate aligned with our mission and values. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and has pride in their ability to handle and prioritize multiple functions, and will effectively communicate Warrior Writers’ vision to a large network of veterans, allies, artists, and volunteers. Most importantly, the ideal candidate will want to support veterans in the discovery of the arts as a tool for change.
Responsibilities Include:
Manage the Warrior Writers social media accounts by creating and posting content, as well as responding to or forwarding messages sent through these channels.
Design graphics for promotional material, events, and social media.
Manage the mailing list.
Design and distribute email newsletter and announcements.
Create and communicate updated web content for the web designer.
Create marketing strategies and plans for events, merchandise, and fundraising campaigns.
Manage documentation of events with photos, videos, etc.
Communicate with news sources about publicity and create press kits.
Job Requirements:
Experience with social media tools
Graphic design experience and knowledge of graphic design software programs
Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, as well as gmail and google docs
Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
Comfortable working remotely and managing your time
A degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
Compensation: This is a part time job, $17/hour, 40 hours/month.
Most work can be done remotely. Though our coworking space is located in Philadelphia, given the nature of the position we are very open to applicants in any location, as long as they would be willing to travel to Philadelphia from time to time.
