What This Project Entails:

The Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) helps Veterans, and their families cope with financial challenges by providing supplemental income through the Veterans Pension and Survivors Pension benefits program. With the number of new benefit claims on the rise, it is essential for VBA to modernize and optimize their systems to process benefit claims more accurately and efficiently. As such, VBA seeks to improve customer service and mission accomplishment by implementing process changes through automation known as the Pension Optimization Initiative.

This effort is a transformative initiative where Ibility has been engaged to convert an existing manual business process into a managed automated solution whereby 100% of all the submitted Pension and Survivor claims within scope are evaluated through automation. As such, we are looking for a detail-oriented pension expert to join the pension quality assurance team, with responsibilities including developing and implementing quality assurance standard operating procedures (SOPs), conducting checks and inspections, and identifying processing errors as well as opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency of new and existing processes that will assist in the validation of automation outcomes and overall quality assurance activities.

What You Will be Doing:

Preparing, implementing, and executing quality assurance policies and procedures
Performing routine checks and inspections of work products generated by automation
Identifying and resolving data, workflow, and processing issues from intake through finalization
Documenting quality assurance activities and creating audit reports, while escalating discovered issues appropriately
Making recommendations for improvement including identifying new or modifying existing business rules
Supporting the development and execution of training material for new members

What You Will Need to be Successful:

Bachelor’s degree preferred
3 years or more of experience working for the VBA Pension Program or similar relevant experience
Previous experience in quality assurance or a similar field
Working knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts of quality assurance
Understanding of VBA pension processes or similar relevant experience in performing the following: 1) reviewing evidence, eligibility, entitlement, competency, dependency, and financial information; 2) managing ratings; 3) generating and authorizing awards
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent data collection and analysis skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong understanding of automation and business process modernization products

Our Disclaimer:

We want you to go into this with eyes wide open. Ibility is a small but mighty company that is positioned for rapid growth. We have big aspirations with limited resources and try our best to make every investment count, which is why we take great pride in selecting the best talent. We ruthlessly prioritize our work against our vision and only focus on the things that matter. This is not like working at a big company – we do not have the same red tape administrative processes, but also do not have clear roles, responsibilities, well-defined processes, tried and tested training, or other things. You will often wear multiple hats and your role will grow over time as you help us to create an amazing company!

We are committed to diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer in all aspects of employment and do not discriminate for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
