A group of "eight House Republicans joined with Democrats" Tuesday in a historic vote to remove Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy as speaker. The House will now have to elect a new speaker. The vote in the House of Representatives on the motion to vacate was 216-210, with Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz leading the effort.
My comment, "It would seem these so-called Republicans are really Democrats at heart and are willing to throw "we the people under the bus for their own convictions. While these eight voted to oust McCarthy, 100% of the Democrats voted to oust McCarthy telling us the rest of the story. Sad!"

Why would any Democrat vote for McCarthy to remain as the Speaker? Would you expect any Republican to vote for Pelosi?

SPC Jeff Daley, PhD - From what I read, McCarthy never even reached out to the Democrats. They certainly weren't going to vote for him for free; he'd have to negotiate that with them (power-sharing, budget, Biden inquiry, etc.). I guess he calculated that he had a better chance of winning over a handful of Republicans than he did winning over a handful of Democrats.

Absolutely.. Political enemies would always vote in a matter that harms the other side... They're an enemy and that is a strategic advantage.
