I was an instructor at the Drill Sergeant academy from 2015-2017. The first thing I can tell you is to swallow your pride and under stand that they will exploit your ability of lack there of to complete a skill level 10 task. There is a method behind the madness. Drink the koolaid so to say.
Show up knowing the Drill Sergeant creed, soldiers creed, top three(position of attention, rest positions at the half, and the hand salute), at. Minimum, know all the exercises of PRT . Prep drill, 4C, HSD, CD1, CD2, climbing drill 1, and recovery.
Also familiarize yourself with 350-6. The RM periods, D and C, and 670-1.
Ensure you have a clean fresh uniform and a clean hair cut when you report.

SSG Kyle Hetcel What Id recommend is staying away from rote memorization of the specific mods...., as there are variances in what and how delivered at each location and even DS leader to DS leader... But at the same time know yourself and your limitations. If memorizing a string of words is truly a limitation you have, you may be better off learning the MODS, so the stress level is lower, and take the correction as they come for having memorized the wrong MOD word verbiage, timing, actions required, cadence, pauses required by the DS leader you will be assigned. Remember it does not matter what you think you know to be the right way, words, application..it only matters in the moment that you are reciting the MOD verbiage correctly as observed by the Two DS leaders you must convince you passed the MOD test....Or if pitching a third time, the DS Leader and the commandant you will pitch in front of for your last chance.

What I saw as the biggest impediment to a smooth time at DS School, was the basics... It was not the ability to memorize a string of words 9yes some had that problem)...but the ability to perform an action.
In my DS candidate platoon alone we had;
A Commo SSG who had not fired her service rifle in years. (wrong on all accounts, but it was the reality, and we had to teacher her basic weapons handling, maint and PMI)
A Supply SSG that was in a unit that only fired Qual on a 25 meter range for non combat arms SM (wrong on all accounts, but it was reality and left that guy struggling to understand what to do on a standard qual range)
An IN SFC who had not done D&C since he was in AIT, so not only did he have to learn the MOD Words, but had to relearn what D&C was from individual though unit.

And the list goes on.... If you have to learn the words, the precise way to say them, AND relearn what the actions are. Those DS candidates struggled the most.
