If this was not offered during initial check in to your unit you may submit a special request chit to your navy chain of command for approval. Once your LPO, LCPO and Med Ofc. Or commanding officer on the navy side sign it make sure your LCPO or LPO submit it to the marine chain of command. It must be signed again by the 1st sgt and CO. Once this is complete make sure that it gets submitted to your OMPF as well. You should receive a USMC S4 form where you will put your sizes for the uniform items and submit it to the S4 shop. From there you must remember that you need to stick within USMC regs (height/weight/body fat %, grooming standards and complete an annual PFT & CFT) and you will be able to wear the Alpha and Charlie uniforms. If you need help filling out the special request chit let me know. It is simple.

Thanks HM2. Yes it was offered and my question was really what goes on the special request chit but RP changed the wording of my question for some reason. Anyway, I got the chit submitted, signed by my 1st Sgt and CO, forms completed and now just waiting on some signatures and then wait for uniforms to arrive. Do you know if any alterations required will be at my expense? Also, will I be able to wear the Alphas to the Marine Corps Ball? It may be too late for this years ball but maybe for next years. I'm new to the green side and very motivated to merge with my Marines. Fully aware of everything that comes along with going Marine Corps Regs and don't have a problem with any of it. I see you have your FMF pin. That's next on my target. Printed out my pqs already. Thanks again HM2 for any advice or help you can offer.

When you get the S4 paper that shows uniform items you should be able to put sizes down on the sheet. After you get them any tailored alterations will be put of pocket. When my first command offered the usmc regs they sent me to the uniform shop on camp pendleton with the S4 sheet to get fitted and the uniforms were ordered through there from my unit. You can wear the Alphas to the marine corps ball once you are marine regs and I believe most if not all will have the units wear Charlies on Fridays. My unit does that and I know some others as well. Awesome to know your going for your FMF pin man. It's like a symbol of respect from most marines when a doc has the pin. I've been told "your not a real doc until you have the pin" from other marines haha. Idk if your active or reserves but don't drag out the pqs too long. Try to do as fast as possible and flash cards help ALOT when studying for the written test and oral boards. Good luck with it I highly encourage the FMF pin!

Will help you understand and possibly direct you to specific answers. The Marine unit your assigned to will sign off on the paper work and then you turn it into your NAVPERS office. All of this bus your chain of command of course. Hope this helps.
