In AIT @ Infantry School, Ft. Benning GA, I had the task of carrying this thing as a necklace wherever. I was primarily a .50 cal gunner when in the turret however if I found myself behind the M240B, it's safe to say now that I would actually use a powerade bottle to keep it level while having the luxury of a control knob. A very reliable weapon that taught and reinforced the idea of talking weapons and down/up reload times, fire rates. I saw PT studs buckle when having to ruck with the M240B and for that I can look back at that time with appreciation. There were only 2 people that carried the M240B in AIT for the PLT.

Love the 240B it is the back bone of our security and defense mission also for our convoy Security Escort team mission. I was a M60 Team member in my first Battalion I was what we called at the time Ammo barrier # 2 and then from there moved on to Gunner and then transferred to a CBU and was assigned as an A Gunner and then just kept being a gunner in next I was a SQD leader and we have two Guns in a gun SQD. I became a Chief and by then we transitioned over to the 240B system. I ended up being a Machine Gun company Chief and was able to shoot the 240B because they make us qualify on them even as the Platoon Chief so we understand how to deploy them and understand what the troops have to deal with. I love the 240. We recently got upgraded to the M240L, with select components made of titanium. It weighs a couple pounds lighter than the B.
