I am seeking help from prior service guys/gals, with information about transitioning later in the game. I am 30 years old trying to get back into the military to finish my time. I got out in 2013 from the Marine Corps. I had a back surgery that will not allow me to go back into the Corps. I am now trying to go into the Air Force. I have prior knowledge from my days in High School. I was four years JROTC Air Force. Can someone give me an insight into the every day life, and schools.

did 11.8 in the corps, 99 till 2011. Joined army reserves in 2014, finally was able to get back in active duty in may of this year. Air force is real strict on prior service, I looked into them before I joined the army. All they wanted at the time was special forces

I made the switch back in 2008. Was in the Corps from 01-08. When I switched over to the army it was the small things that took me along time to figure out. I tried the Air Force back in 2008 the recruiter laughed at me and told me the chair force doesn't want any marines lmao. So i decided on the Army and its 20k bonus and i have loved it ever since.
Semper FI brother.

LCpl Ben Spalding - rank, So E5-E8 basically call Sergeant. unless a 1sg. I still call master sergeants by there rank but by regulation you don't have to. The Grunt life is basically the same, But outside of infantry it is a different ball game. Other Mos don't have the everyone is a rifleman mentality it is nope my job is supply so that's it.
No such thing as a staff nco took me awhile to realize that. E7 and up are Senior NCO's unlike the corps where E6 and up are Staff Ncos.
A lot of things are the same in the Army, Same shitty details lol Guard detail, PT everyday, So the real fun things are the same. haha
