I have 8 years of Reserve service, and I'm going active duty. For pay purposes, will I be on the "more than 8 years of service" pay scale?

I have herd that going from reserve to active will recalculate my Time in Service, so that 8 years of reserve will actually be 1 or more years of active duty, depending on my service. For PAY purposes, will I still be on 8 years of service or more, or will this be based on this active duty time calculation?

Your pay is based on years of service. Thus you will be paid on over 8. Hope this helps getting your finances squared away. Have a wonderful AD Career!

You will have 8 years of time for pay purposes. It is calculated by the total months of service divided by 12.
