Articles like this actually make me feel sorry for the average person. I mean, "...with only 12 hours of preparation..." Gosh, I'd hate to hear what the Post would think about tactical actions at the Argonne.

I had troops pull ops with only 30 minutes notice. Granted it was within the context of a larger operation but still it was a lift and shift move. Historically....remember the Band of Brother's attack on the German artillery battery? That was a shoe string operation aggressively executed. What did Patton say.....better a poor plan executed in a timely manner rather than a perfect plan exercised too late....or words to that effect.
