I was discharged from the Air force Reserves back in 2015, I am in the process of reenlisting (USAFR). If everything goes well, How long will I have before a PT test is required? Also does any one have any info on this process. I am requesting a Waiver, waiting on it to be approved by the Unit I am trying to get into. Will I have to redo Tech School the new position is 2A354B I was previously 2A0315

A1C Renisha Thompson I just got back in 24 Sept after 18.5 years out. I have yet to take a PT test at my ANG unit, but have been told that they will give me an official PT test prior to me going to Tech School - who knows how long that will be, though...LOL. My new AFSC is 1X1, so clearances are pretty backed up.

Are you attending drills while you wait? My job requires a clearance as well, luckily I already have one and completed my re-investigation last year so hopefully adjudication will be done soon. My current clearance won’t be out of scope until 2020. A buddy of mine said they are giving him 6 months to do his PT test.

Not familiar with this AFSC 2A0315. Is it a typo?
Reserves follow the active AFI's with their additions. Once a year, with a few unless's. The gaining unit generally allows you time to process in before they require you to do it.
Very few things cannot be wavered.

Yes it is a typo the previous AFSC was 2A031S. I was already told by the CMSgt of the unit he would approve the waiver. Just waiting on the paperwork to go through.

A1C Renisha Thompson - When I went from fighters to heavy's as a crew chief two different AFSC's I was placed as a 1 level and only had to do CDC's again. What a pain in the neck I hadn't had to do those for almost 10 years. we fast tracked them with minimal training time since I was already a 7 level in similar AFSC. Sweet talk the training manager unless of course you want to go back to tech school.

You should be prepared the first day you show up for drill.
