Those jobs are out there, but mainly for Network Operations Centers (NOCs) and high-level remote Admins/Engineers/Programmers. A+ is a very baseline certification that, because of its purpose (troubleshooting and fixing computer hardware) is very hands-on.
Perhaps you could do a Google Search for computer repair shops, or if Best Buy is still around (is it?) their Geek Squad is usually looking for entry-level computer techs.
Put together a LinkedIn page, put your resume on LinkedIn, Dice.Com, Monster.Com, Indeed.Com, and actually call IT Contracting companies (Robert Half, Jacobs, Aerotek, etc.) and talk to a recruiter. See what they have available in your area.
Check out the Veteran's Administration too. They have IT programs for Veterans. I'm sure they have something that will set you in the right direction. Also check out HireHeroes.Com. They do resume writing, and coach/mentor you through your job search.
My career advice for you is to continue your studies and get the Network+ certification next. Then continue on to Security+. Sec+ will open A LOT more doors, as you will be eligible for government IT jobs (especially if you have a security clearance).
Good Luck!
