I will be trying to apply for various things here shortly (17C mos). My question is since I will be out of a job soon the opportunity has presented itself to teach at WLC.
If I take that job will it prevent those unit units I apply for from PCSing me to AIT/ or an assignment?

Yes...Soldiers assigned to Instructor positions will be stabilized for a period of 36 months. However, HRC may reassign Soldiers with less than 36 months in accordance with paragraph 3–8a(10) of AR 614-200. (Reassignments to fill higher priority assignments.)

It takes time to get up to speed. Most Academy want leaders who have time to contribute to the Academy and the Soldiers we they affect. The norm is 36 mnths. Some time obligation may vary tho.
