If I report early, would I have to wait until the specified PTDY dates on the DA31 to house hunt?

I am authorized 60 day early report on my PCS Orders.
I plan to take advantage of the early report and request for a PCS LV starting 40 days out from the report date to 10 days prior to report date and PTDY for the last 10 days on one DA31.
If I report 35 days early(within 5 days of starting leave), would I have to wait until the specified PTDY dates on the DA31 to house hunt, or would my PTDY start the day Housing stamps my DA31 and disregarding the pre-determined PDTY dates?
I am PCSing to NAS Pensacola, FL.

Housing is no longer required to stamp your form for Permissive TDY. Of course, its possible that your post is still making people do it, but the Army took that requirement away. However, your DA31 is required to be signed by an O5 in order to not be charged. You don't have to take your PTDY at any specific time. It's in the notes of your DA31 as a note to finance not to charge you for 10 days of your leave. Your leave form has to cover all the way up to your actual report date. But when you turn in your leave you will only be charged for the time you were gone, minus travel days and PTDY.

If my report date was 20210227 and I was to sign in to the new PDS on 20210124, would travel days and 10 days of PTDY be subtracted from the days of leave taken by finance?

PFC (Join to see) I totally forgot there's a new DA31 out now. I see what you're concerned about.
When you turn in your leave form at finance inprocessing it doesn't matter what days you were on leave. In this case, you'd be on leave about 27 days, but you'd only be charged about 10 depending on your authorized travel time.
