Bio 

CW3 Michael O. Wilson began his military career in February 2001 when he enlisted in the US Air Force Reserve. He completed basic training/tech school at Lackland AFB, TX and served with distinction as a Security Forces Fire Team member with the 916th Security Forces Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. With over 18 years of service as an M-day service member, he has been mobilized for two active duty tours in support of (operation noble eagle and operation enduring freedom) since Sept 11, 2001. His most recent mobilization being in Bagram, Afghanistan from 11/1/10 to 8/31/11. On August 20, 2005 he received a BS in Professional Aeronautics with a minor in Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He entered the Army Reserve in 2006 as an aviation operations specialist for the Bco. 5-159th aviation regiment out of Felker AAF Fort Eustis, Va. In 2008 he submitted an application for WOFT and was selected to attend Flight School XXI program. Upon graduation in June of 2010 he transitioned to Simmons AAF, home of the “Smugglers” Aco. 1/169 th Av Rgt, for in-processing and RL progression. Upon arrival at Aco.1/169 th, he was named the unit's first Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) officer. Chief Wilson flew over 280 accident free combat hours and 50 hours under nvgs in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, participated in planning over 100 combat missions to include deliberate operations and VIP movements as a company mission planner. CW3 Wilson transferred from the Army Reserve January 2013 into the Georgia National Guard, home of the “Falcons” Aco, 1-171st GSAB hitting the ground running. His positive and never give up attitude contributed to the unit success as a Foreign Object Debris officer, Aviation Gunnery OIC, and participated in the planning and execution of two National Training Center (NTC) rotations. CW3 Wilson eventually transitioned into the Alabama National Guard, home of the “Death Angels” Aco, 1-131st summer of 2017 though newly assigned to the unit, he quickly achieved RL1 status. He volunteered for the unit FOD officer providing needed training to unit members, in-addition participated in 2019 Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) 19-08 rotation. Mr. Wilson NVG custodian team performed extremely well in the Battalion level 2019 ARMS for Aco 1-131. Currently, he works part time within the aviation industry. CW3 Wilson currently resides in Northport, AL with his wife Katara and their two daughters Kynsley & Chloe.
