2nd generation 82nd Airborne Division paratrooper.
Our Dad served from '54 to '56

Entered in 10 Sept 80' to Ft. Jackson to process. 15 Sept. to 10 Dec 80' E-5-1. Harmony Church, Ft. Benning, Ga. Jump School 5 Jan to 29 Jan 81'. 13 Feb 81' B Co. 2nd Bn. (ABN) 505th (INF). Weapons platoon until Nov 81'. Then assigned to HHC. and drove deuce and half until I separated on terminal leave 11 July 83' Everyone in HHC with an 11 series MOS still had to participate in S.Q.T and E.I.B. testing every year. Earned my E.I.B in 82'. Went through J.O.T.C. Ft Sherman, Panama. 12 Feb to 12 Mar 82'. Graduated PNOC/Recondo. 24 Nov.82'. I have to say, we had some great training, and some of the best NCO's! I am very proud that I served in the 82nd! My Dad and brother served with the 82nd as well.

Started as a grenadier. Was an AG in 3rd squad, weapons platoon. Then was assigned to H.H.C. in Nov 81' until I separated on terminal leave on 11 July 83'.

Jump into Ft. Pickett, Va.
THEE best jump ever! It was a rare day jump T/CE. We had a small DZ so we had to do a couple passes. Our JM was Sgt. Kratzner from our plt. He stood me in the door of our bird "C-130" for the whole passing. It was f'n AWESOME!!! I don't remember now exactly how long the ride was before the green light came on. However it was my best Airborne experience. We "played" with the jarhead's who were there for that day "14 Oct" and the next day "15 Oct" and jumped back into Ft. Bragg that night. It was also the first AND only time that I had back to back jumps since jump school.
