GA. 7/20/2019 Tellis, Derrick 1SG MIL FORSCOM 1SG Derrick Tellis was born in Troy Alabama on the 25th of May 1968 to Mr. Henry Tellis and Ms. Mosetta Batie. 1SG Tellis has served in both the Active Army and the Army Reserves for 31 years. 1SG Tellis graduated Pike County High School in Brundidge, Alabama, and also completed two Alabama Peace Officer Standards and Training (APOST) certifications for Law Enforcement. 1SG Tellis joined the Army in January 1987, shipped out August 1987 to Basic Training. His Military Schools and Training consist of Basic Training, Advance Individual training PLDC, BNCOC, and ANCOC. He has also completed the following training SLC for 92A40 Course phases 1st and 2nd, and (CCFSC) Commanders/First Sergeant Course. Currently serves as the First Sergeant for the 231st Inland Cargo Transfer Company, Athens, Alabama. He also served in various positions has the Operations Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Task Force D ROPS Liaison NCO, Material Management NCO, Logistical Task Force NCOIC throughout his Career. Mobilizations and deployments include ENDURING FREEDOM-2015, 2014, 2010, and 2003. OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM/NEW DAWN 2009/2007, NOBLE EAGLE 2002. 1SG Tellis’ awards and decorations include Bronze Star Medal, Army Achievement Medal Ribbon with 4 bronze oak leaf cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal Ribbon with two knot device, Afghanistan Campaign Ribbon with bronze star device, Iraq Campaign Medal Ribbon with double bronze star devise, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal Ribbon, Armed Forces Medal Ribbon with mobilization device and bronze hourglass device, Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon with bronze numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon, NATO Medal Ribbon. 1SG Tellis is married to Barbara Tellis of Tuskegee, Alabama.
