Flying Crew Chief on Crown 217 HC-130-P Air Rescue Aircraft. Staged out of Udorn AB, Thailand as it was closer to being in N.Vietnam for HH-53 Air Refueling and Flying Command Post for Rescue of downed pilots.Lost an entire HH-53 Crew and Chopper on one refuel ops...they did not back away from the refuel hose, but took it down, caught the rotors.

Aircraft Mechanic C-130-A flying Blind Bat Missions out of NhaTrang, and MACV Support to many bases, and LZ's. Hauling supplies, Ammunition, Shells, transporting prisoners and military members in body bags. Recover C-123 aircraft broke down on Dirt Strip (mud-holes) and performed perimeter security at LZ

C-130-E Turbo-Prop aircraft mechanic (43151-F).
Transferred an F-100 Wing from Clovis AFB, N.Mexico to Danang AB. We hauled all their personnel, equipment, supplies and brought 28 750 pound bombs from the Philippines to Danang. Monkey Mountain was hot with Charlies firing at every take-off and landing. Gulf of Tonkin Incident brought this on.

Aircraft Mechanic C-130-A's from Okinawa. Also ran a makeshift Tire Shop in a lean -to changing tires on C-130's and C-123's. Maintained Spray Bars on Defoliant aircraft (Agent Orange). Met Martha Raye at 5th special Forces Camp, and years later contributed writing in Noonie Fortins book Medals for Maggie. 1st son born while I was in my 2nd stint.
