Enlisted in USMC at 17 and served 14 years, until medically retired at rank of SSgt. While on active duty in 1987 I began serving as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with Yuma County Sheriff.1995-1996 Dispatcher for Yuma County. Deputy Marshal for the Wellton (AZ) Marshal's Office; Officer, Sgt, Chief for Wellton Police Dept. Retired 03/2012. Reserve Officer until 11/2014. Natl Service Officer at DAV.

While an outpatient at USNH Balboa, assigned as Training SNCOIC at Support Co from 09/1994-02/1995. Then assigned as SNCOIC of Marie Liaison Platoon at USN Hospital Balboa (HQ&Svc Co) from 02/1995-/7/1995. Medically retired at 30% disability on July 31, 1995.

Maintenance/Utilities Chief for MWSS-171. Standard duties. Deployed to Camp Fuji, Japan in 08/1994 due to recent tensions with North Korea, Operation CLOUD WARRIOR. Injured in grenade explosion on 08/29/1994 resulting in blindness in right eye, medevacked to USN Hospital Yokosuka Japan, Showa University Hospital Tokyo Japan until mid Sep 1994. Then med evacuated to USNH Balboa in San Diego, CA.

Assigned to I MEF RAC Team with Maritime Prepositioning Squadron-2 (MPS-2) at Blount Island. Inspected, supervised civilian repair technicians with inspecting, repairing, preserving, and storing a variety of USMC equipment aboard 6 MPS ships. each ship was a 60 day cycle. Deployed to Mogadishu Somalia attached to 1st FSSG Forward during Operation RESTORE HOPE from 12/92-01/93.

Worked 3rd-4th echelon maintenance in Engr Maint Co at Las Pulgas. Cross trained as a hand grenade instructor and also deployed to MCAS Tustin in support of JTF LA during the LA riots. Also same duties upon return from TAD with MPS program in 08/1993 to 09/1993.
