though I never had to place my life in danger, I was prepared very well by my Viet Nam veteran sgts, and my most difficult mission was a Bn Fire For Effect, Time On Target, Coordinated Illumination, At My Command. We were all in training, so there were incredible delays between rounds down range. and we on the hill (Ft Hood) were imbibing in our own rounds between times. Great Mission!

Annual Training was conducted there. We in the Guard were actually more versatile than RA because there were fewer of us. I was able to drive Jeeps, 2 1/2s, M113 Cracker Boxes...called fire for 8", 155s, mortars, and during one dog and pony show actually was allowed to call in air support. Good Times.
