Born 9/18/1942, Hopkinsville, KY. Grew up Warner Robins, GA. Graduated and commissioned (ROTC) from North Georgia College (now University of North Georgia) in 1964. Married Shelby Ellis Stone in 1965. Two sons, John H. Griscom III and Shelby York Griscom. Six grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Active duty - Aug 64 - Nov 75; USAR - Dec 75 - Aug 92. DAC - Dec 75 - Apr 2001.
