Born: Mesa, AZ 3 August 1941. Father: Carl R Sr. WWII Veteran (US Army Pacific Theater). Mother: Norma J. Housewife and mother. Lived in Okmulgee, OK where I graduated from High School. Not a great student always preferring to be 'outside'. Enlisted in US Army for PIO training. Basic Infantry and Advanced training: Field Artillery (Heavy) both at Ft. Carson, CO. NOT PIO, exactly.

Assisted as needed in ER and in preparing blood for transfusions in support of actions in II Corp area of ops. Transferred to 93rd Evac Hospital Med Lab as Asst Chief of Med Lab for duration of deployment.

Worked with elements of 406th Med Lab. Basic duties: Blood Banking x-match for transfusion. Preparing & interpreting blood preps for Malaria and as needed in the Lab.
