Machine gun team leader at Camp Geiger. While there I deployed Oct. 1983 and participated in Operation Urgent Fury (Grenada), then on to Lebanon as Multi-National Force. Upon return I was promoted to Corporal and was transferred to 2nd LAV's when they were new to the Corps 1985 as a short timer (Charlie Co.). After leaving active duty for 90 days I got bored and joined the reserves for 14 years. While a reservist I went to NCO, SNCO & Advanced Courses. I went to mountain warfare Bridgeport CA and Cold Weather Minnesota. I became the Unit SNCOIC of training, received Navy Achievement, Meritorious Service, Marine of the Year and stayed as a Gunny till the MOS was changed in the unit and took early retirement in 1999.

Machine gun team leader as L/Cpl Cross trained a platoon of 0311's on the gun I was on the USS Guam Part of Multi-National Force after BLT blew up no longer peace keeping force Part of the first Marines to see major action since Vietnam When relieved out of Grenada by 82nd airborne they had new cammies,new kevlar helmet and shiny boots LOL.
