Got my draft notice while in high school and I always wanted to be a Marine. I enlisted after graduation. Spent Christmas at Parris Island in 1966. Went to "A" school in Jacksonville Florida and was assigned to Cherry Point North Carolina working in a HMS squadron. I was transferred to a new squadron being reformed in Hawaii (VMFA-235) at Kaneohe Bay in 1968 until my enlistment was over in 1970.
