I received my commission as a Second Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps from the United States Naval Academy In May 1986. After graduation, I attended The Basic School (TBS) and Infantry Officers Course (IOC) in Quantico, Virginia. I attended primary flight training in Pensacola, Florida, Intermediate and Advanced flight training in Beeville, Texas, and was designated a Naval Aviator in April 1988.
