Started as a SAW Gunner out of SOI and did my first deployment as one. I was a team leader for OIF, and served a brief stint as a squad leader.

Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)
Deployed in support of OIF with Alpha Co 1/8 with the mission of conducting counter insurgency operations in the vicinity of Ar-Ramadi, Iraq. Conducted over two hundred combat patrols, both mounted and dismounted. Our main objective was to ensure the success of the Anbar Awakening by training the Iraqi Police to be self sufficient and professional.

24th MEU
Part of Battalion Landing Team 1/8. Floated to Marseilles, Rome, Limassol. Then through the Suez Canal for training with the Jordanian Army, then to Djibouti for an exercise. Were on scene for 2006 Beirut Evacuation of American citizens. Ended the deployment in Dubai and Kuwait before turning around to go home.
