Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)
First national guard brigade to ever deploy as a full brigade, did a 6 month premob training in Camp Shelby, MS right after Katrina hit, we were the longest boots on ground in theater of any active or reserve component. We got caught up in the soldier ramp up in Baghdad so we got extended 4 months. Total time away from home was 23 months straight.
