I joined the U.S. Army as a 98J - Non Communication/Cryptologic/Electronic Warfare Interceptor delayed enter in December 1975 while a Senior in High School. Went to Basic Training at Fort Dix, NJ in July 1976(Great summer Vacation). Went to AIT at Fort Devens, MA then on to my first Permanent party assignment at 335th ASA Co. 9th Div Fort Lewis, WA. We trained hard went to the Field a lot and did what the Army told us. I next went to Field Station Berlin where for the first time I could actually do my MI job. Loved that 3 years. Left Berlin in late 1980 and went to be a Technical Writer at the 98J school at Fort Devens MA. for a year. Then back to Europe and 7th Corps (The largest most forward deployed Corps in the Fee World) Go Jayhawks. I worked as NCIOC of the TUT _ Tactical User Terminal and then 7th Corps G2 Collection Management. Went to ANOC while there then Assigned back to Fort LEwis A Co. 201st MI BDE I Corps (Americas Corps) WOrked as Ply Sgt/ Acting 1ST SGT and NCOIC of both the ETUT and EPDS vans. Went to Team Spirit Exercise in Korea 4 times in January. I spent my last year as NCOIC of the I Corps SIGINT Operations Center (SOC).
