Bio
Retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in July 2011 following 26 years of service and joined Walbridge as their Director of Federal Business Development in the company’s Heavy-Civil Construction group. Started Black Diamond Constructors, LLC in 2014.
Born in Jacksonville, NC. Lived in NC, ME, MD & PA before settling in Beaufort, SC. Graduated from Battery Creek High School and attended West Point. Married a beautiful, accomplished Greek woman - Ourania - in 1987. We have two amazing sons - Alexander and Christopher.

Civil Works experience with flood damage reduction; navigation; regulatory activities; water supply; water quality; hydropower; environmental conservation and enhancement; recreation; emergency disaster response and operation/maintenance of locks, dams and flood control reservoirs
Military Construction experience with an award-winning program in support of Army, Army Reserves, Air Force, Air Force Reserves and other DoD facilities; services provided included engineering design, plans and specifications, construction, real estate and environmental remediation

Battalion Commander
Commanded a combat heavy engineer battalion consisting of seven subordinate engineer and chemical companies for 12 months in combat in Baghdad, Iraq without a fatality (2005-2006)
Commanded 500+ km ground movement of 503 Soldiers and 216 vehicles from Kuwait to Baghdad, Iraq. Black Diamond Soldiers completed 279 construction projects in 301 days of combat operations
Received individual and unit commendations for commanding engineer construction and chemical force protection missions while deployed to Baghdad, Iraq
