I did manage to become a Combat Lifesaver , for those who don't know it's sort of an advanced first aid training . It is in addition to the normal duties of your actual MOS . As a Combat Lifesaver it's your duty should anyone become wounded or otherwise incapacitated to do what you can to save their life until a medic arrives . Usual First Aid , self aid or buddy aid doesn't allow for the giving of I.V.'s but not only do Combat Lifesavers get training to give an I.V., their also given and supplied with I.V., solution as well as catheters and line . I had my own "Medic" bag as it were in addition to my regular TA50 .
