Private pilot License, Restorer of vintage military vehicles for over 50 years. Have owned almost any kind of WW2 and Vietnam era vehicles at one time. Supplied equipment for the Beale AFB Museum,CA, USN Gunboat Museum,Monterey,CA, Goliad Mission Museum, TX, TH Military Museum,NV. Married for 47 years. Earned Expert Rifleman USMC and U.S. Army, Awarded USMC Good Conduct, National Defense Medals.

M48A5 and M60A1 Tank. M113 APC. Driver,Loader,Gunner,Commander as everyone had to cross train on all the vehicles. Attended two summer camps. Became specialist on the Browning M2HB Machine gun,M60 and M219 MG. Resigned from military service to raise my family.

Stationed at MCRD Motor Transport Garage. Repairing Depot's vehicles.

Nov 1968 - Jun 1969

Long Beach Naval Shipyard,CA

Aboard USS Bennington CVS 20 for duty. Ship had just returned from Tonkin Gulf for refit. 3 months in drydock and remainder at sea for carrier qualfications (Catalina Cruises). Spent two weeks at regimental schools,Camp Pendleton and two weeks at Brig as Prison Guard,Maximum Security. Navy decommissioned the ship in June and all were reassigned.

Jul 1968 - Oct 1968

Mare Island Naval Shipyard,Vallejo,CA

Assigned to Marine Barracks, Mare Island. First month was Mess Duty. We did all the food service for the Marine Barracks. After I left I understand the mess hall was turned over to civilian contract services for food/ Rest of time duty was prisoner chaser and Gate Security. Transferred to Sea School for ship detachment training.

Sea School at MCRD San Diego. Two weeks of sea service and Naval training.Two weeks of member of the Patriotic Flag Pageant(played Gen.George Washington) Graduated 2nd in class but did not pick a duty station (never volunteer) and was assigned to USS Bennington CVS-20 at Long Beach,CA
