Vietnam War
I was with the Mortar Platoon, Delta Co, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Inf Div, 199th Light Inf Brigade. I started as RTO and eventually became Chief Computer in the Fire Direction Center. In addition to being a mortarman, our platoon was often used as a rifle platoon also. I spent my share of time on patrols, search and destroy missions, and ambushes.
