Bio 

Dr. R. LeWayne Johnson is a Deputy Assistant Program Manager of Logistics (DAPML) in Foreign Military Sales with the Department of Navy. He has 38 years of quality-driven leadership experiences within the Federal Government and is a Combat-Decorated Veteran (Bronze Star, 2 Meritorious Services Medal, 5 Army Commendation Medals, 5 Army Achievement Medals and 2 National Defense Service Medals). He retired as an Army Senior Chief Warrant Officer (Judge Advocate General Corps) with over 33 years of service. Dr. Johnson was a First Responder in the Gulf War I Iraqi Scud missile attack that killed 28 American Soldiers. Dr. Johnson’s education consists of a PhD from Walden University in Public Policy and Administration (4.0 GPA), LLM in International Taxation from St Thomas School of Law (Cum Laude) and a JD from Barry University School of Law. He practiced as a Public Defender. Dr. Johnson is the President and CEO of the Florida Coalition to Prevent Veterans Homelessness and the current President and founder of the Osceola County Democratic Veterans’ Caucus of Florida. He has also recently partnered with the Mayor of Kissimmee, FL to standup a Kissimmee Mayor’s Veteran’s Advisory Council to better focus on issues such homelessness, suicide prevention, substance abuse and mental illness impacting Veterans in and around the City of Kissimmee FL. His expertise in law, public policy, military leadership and program management has provided him with the tools needed to assist him in identifying, planning, and delivering many initiatives.
