Enlisted: October ‘68. Basic: October to December ‘68. Ft. Dix, B-6-2, squad leader. Experted M-14, M-16, & grenade. AIT: Ft. Monmouth, Company B, 4th Platoon squad leader, January to August ‘69. Platoon sergeant, 2nd Platoon September to December ‘69. Overseas: Comcenter Platoon, Company A, 51st Signal Battalion, 8th Army , I Corps, Camp Pililaau (duty station Red Cloud), January ‘70 to May ‘71. Just north of Uijongbu, Western Sector DMZ/JSA. MOS: 32G20-M2. Fixed Cryptographic Repair w/Mode V Auto-digital Repair extension (routing indicator). Duty: Kept Comcenter up, running and on-line. Systems troubleshooter. Liked to volunteer to ride shotgun on MoMo (motor messenger) runs to remote outposts along DMZ when I could. Drove Dueces and jeeps also. ETS’ed as a Spec5.
