1956 Served one year in the Canadian Army Cadets, 43rd Heavy Ack Ack at 14 years old. Family moved to San Diego 1957. Joined the 101st Airborne 1960, back when the 101st was still a paratroop division. Made Corporal 1961, Sgt. 1962. Heavy weapons infantry, Forward Observer for the 81s in the field, Squad leader in garrison. Successfully graduated from Westmorland’s Recondo School, 1962. Honorably discharged December 1963. Worked for a newspaper dispatch Department1963. Lived as an artist off my paintings, not very good, but OK. Became a corporate executive with Aaron Bros. Corp for 11 years, then started my own business in 1976, that lasted forty years until I retired. I did all this with nothing more than a ninth grade education.
