Telephone installer/repairman
I worked with a bunch of civilians installing and troubleshooting telephones. Never saw a weapon or gas mask in my 3 years there. Worked Mon-Fri 6:00am for PT, 8:00am report for duty until 4:00pm. I never worked a weekend. Great gig! They offered me a job when I separated from the service. Didn't take it. Rejoined the military 9 months later as an MP.
