Bio

Was nominated as an Alternate to the Air Force Academy in 1964. The principal candidate went to the Academy -so- I joined the Air Force. The training in the Air Force was unique... Even though I was in Security Police we were trained to be combat ready not only for Vietnam but also for the domestic enemies (anti war protestors).

Military Experiences

Sep 1964 - Dec 1966
Security Police
Was a very unique assignment. My squadron was totally segregated from the main base. We had our own chow hall, living quarters, arms room, etc. Our on-going training was similar to that of the Army. Hand-to-hand combat, frequent trips to the firing range for both day and night expertise, ... Even though our primary function was to provide security for the 320th SAC Bomb Wing aircraft, flight crew quarters, communications center(s) - we were the only combat ready forces for the entire base.
