Radiological Controls Shift Supervisor

Trident Refit Facility | Kings Bay, GA

Provided daily radiological controls protection for a US Navy base waterfront facility and over 20 Navy vessels. Planned, researched, supervised and coordinated with various skills and shops to complete over 1,000 routine and 200 emergent radiological electrical-mechanical maintenance and repair work packages. Successfully reduced operating budget by implementing the use of the Waste Curie Monitor to decontaminate and free-release more than 5,000 pieces of radioactive material. Performed routine, maintenance, material release and facility radiation, contamination and airborne surveys.

Supervised and operated auxiliary mechanical equipment, maintained primary and secondary chemistry, and provided radiological controls protection in direct support of 2 nuclear reactors for single or dual plant operations. Assisted and completed the Navy's most complex aircraft carrier overhaul and reactor refueling. Maintained, troubleshot and repaired propulsion plant mechanical and damage control equipment. Collected, analyzed and tracked corrosion preventive treatment chemicals for 33 steam generators and 8 reactor plants, and ensured pure water chemistry controls.
