Military Experiences
Jan 1977 - Aug 1990
Aircraft Loadmaster C-141A & B
Went into service in January of 1977, and left service in August of 1990. I was in a C-141 Reserve/Associate Squadron. The Active Duty units were real short on loads, so I entered the man-day trough. At the end, with 4,031 flight hours, I had been to 35 countries, and had stepped foot on every continent on earth serving in Uncle Sam's travelling band, bringing Airlift from America... Retired... Honestly, I miss the solitude of having the entire cargo compartment to myself, or shared with with another load, when we were Cargo-Only Aircraft. I would go back to the troop doors, with my O2 bottle and mask, and just stare out at the airspace and blue skies, and not think about black holes until the wheels touched down. I will share some stories down the line...
