Bio 

Alyce Knaflich served in the US Army for 19.5 years from December 1975 through May 1995 as a Petroleum Laboratory Technician (92C) then mid-career reclassified as a Telecommunications Operator (72G). Military highlights while stationed at Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia she participated in the first air-to-air aircraft refueling and refueling of Air Force One during the Grenada Invasion of 1982. During the Persian Gulf War stationed in Worms, Germany she supervised Theater COMSEC Logistics Support Center materials distribution to NATO forces with zero security violations. Post military Alyce completed a BS Degree in Poultry Biotechnology and worked one year with HY-Line International a chicken layers company in Dallas Center, Iowa. Unfortunate circumstances (PTSD) she had to stop working which led to homelessness. Ten years later (2005), Alyce reached 100% VA service-connected disability with the help of American Veterans (AMVETS), she started giving back by holding numerous leadership positions with AMVETS, Buncombe County Veterans Council, VA Voluntary Services, and Marine Corps League. Today Alyce holds a Life Membership with AMVETS and DAV, she is a Charter Member of WIMSA and is the Founder and Director of Aura Home Women Vets.

Warehoused, inventory controlled, and issued Communication Security Materials to all Theater NATO Forces valued at $100 million. Supervised all shipping, packing, destruction, and delivery of COMSEC including Top Secret/SCI.
