Joining the USN was always uppermost in my mind growing up. I settled on the Nurse Corps, and worked steadily until I was almost out of money. Two quarters prior to graduation, USN picked me up and kept me in school. In Charleston, I met my husband who was in submarines, as my grandad was. They were veery much alike. I loved the USN, but the politics didn't love me back.
