Bio 

We hail from Florida; my wife Orlando and I Pompano Beach. Navy life took us to RI, FL, VA, CA, HI, Japan, Canada. I went to sea on ships from minesweepers to amphibious assault ships; she spent nights at home wondering where I was. Retiring from the Navy we settled in the midwest becoming Hoosiers. No ocean here! After a while, we went country hopping, Papua New Guinea, México, Alabama, Saipan...

Responsible for all aspects of safe navigation, including training of bridge watchstanding teams and oversight of watchstander's performance. Additionally responsible for shipwide warfare qualification program for Junior Officer and senior enlisted personnel program, and preparation of inport and underway watch rotation schedules.

Leader of communications facility which processes all message traffic for Headquarters, Pacific Fleet and inport ships and shore commands at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Unit consisted of 150 military and civilian personnel in a 24-hour, 7-day center operating a mainframe computer communications node.

Department Head responsible for 80 crewmen conducting all aspects of shipboard operational planning, scheduling, command and control functions, and shipwide training system.
