Responsible for military justice support for a BCT of nearly 4,000 Soldiers training and preparing to deploy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Advised all 2BCT Commanders on administration of military justice and administrative law matters. Represented the US at courts-martial, Art. 32 Hearings, and pretrial confinement reviews. Served as the recorder at officer- and enlisted- administrative separation boards. Performed administrative law duties by briefing investigating officers and reviewing investigations. Mentored, trained and developed 9 paralegals assigned to BCT.

Advised the commander and staff on all areas of the law, with expertise in administrative law, claims, contracts and fiscal law. Served as a single-man Foreign Claims Commission, reviewing and adjudicating claims filed under the Foreign Claims Act while deployed to Iraq. Planned, coordinated and executed over 50 off-FOB claims missions. Conducted legal research on all fiscal actions, including O&M purchases, Commander’s Emergency Response Program funded projects, Micro-grants, Rewards, and others.
