Guam

I was the Auxiliary Officer on the USS Proteus (AS-19). My last year onboard I was the Engineering Senior Enlisted. Each year we deployed to Chinhae, South Korea, Hong Kong and Subic Bay. At each year we also got underway at Christmas for Typhoon evasion. When Mt Pinatubo erupted we were sent to Subic Bay and shoveled ash.
