Sonar Technician (STG) (Surface)

I was on active duty from 1979 to 1990 as a shipboard MK 111 UFCS Technician and and instructor at Mare Island, CA teaching maintenance course on various versions of the MK 116 UFCS - starting with the Mod 1,2,3,4 and progressing through the various iterations of the Mod 5,6 suite. I left the Navy in August 1990 as a Chief SONAR Technician will full intentions to enter the Navy Reserve upon returning to the east cost. Bureaucracy prevented it. I returned to the Navy Reserve after 9/11 - this time as an Intelligence Specialist (IS). I was re-selected for Chief in 2006 and I retired as an ISCS in February 2013 with just over 22 years of combined service.

Integrated with Brigade and Battalion level staff as well as and civilian partners to ensure intelligence was shared quickly and accurately amongst US forces throughout Kunar Province Provided pre-mission threat briefings to all military convoys Traveled throughout Kunar Province in support of civil-military operations
