Various Roles as Enlisted through Officer

7th ID Light, 9th ID, 4th ID | Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), WA

Served during the Cold War Period (Reagan, Bush years). Enlisted in the Army in 1984 as a 17K. This Vietnam Era MOS was basically a scout job with a toaster sized ground radar unit hanging off your chest. I was assigned to 7th ID which converted to the "new" Light Infantry concept (steel pots and jeeps replaced by Kevlars, air assault ops and 90-100lb. rucks). Our company was the division asset used for deep recon. Also trained as FO and sniper. Commissioned following Officer Candidate School. Held various leadership positions in Infantry, Armor and Air Cavalry Squadrons/Battalions as an active duty combat arms officer ranging from S-3 shop, platoon and company level leadership roles. Left active duty after the Gulf War in 1992. Honorable Discharge from the Army Reserve in 1997.
