3415th Security Police Squadron | Lowry AFB, Colorado

Active Reserve duty: 6 Years Individual Mobilization Augmentee - IMA Recalled to Six months of Active Duty at Lowry AFB during Desert Storm, while Active duty members deployed to Kuwait to guard Iraqi prisoners of war. My second Six year enlistment ended in November 1994 at the exact same time that the base itself was being closed, so I decided not to accept offers of re-enlistment / promotions to either FE Warren AFB in Cheyenne NOR to The Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. I admit I regret NOT taking the Air Force Academy slot and getting my 20 years, but Life is still good :-)

Police Patrol Supervisor

2nd Security Police Squadron | Barksdale AFB, LA

I was only at this base for four months, not long enough to certify on Flight Chief / Watch Sgt. or to get into any Investigations work, when the Air Force had what they called the Roll Back Program (Early Out) - I was given the option to re-enlist for four more years AND stay there, OR get out a few months early. In the short time in Shreeveport, LA, I learned that I did NOT want to stay there, for four more years and decided it was time to get off active duty. I got out and returned to Denver and re-enlisted for six more on Active Reserves at Lowry AFB, CO from 1988 through 1994 when Lowry AFB was closed for good.
