During my career I was responsible for implemented the Unit Training Extension Course (UTEC) that allowed soldiers to further develop their individual skills and become more proficient in other related skills as well. This system of learning was wide spread and resulted in positive standards being maintained throughout all units.
Grew up in Greencastle, Indiana and had five brothers and sisters. Loved to play baseball and basketball as a child and spent a lot of time outdoors around rivers and ponds. Entered the US Army in August 1962 and took basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky and went to AIT there learning to be a radio operator. After there went to airborne school and a few years later went through Special Forces Training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
