Bio 

From 1980 until 1995, I was a police officer in various locations in Southern California, I started in Port Hueneme, went to San Diego, and ultimately found myself in China Lake, CA. I attended the police academy at College of the Red Woods in Eureka,CA where I was in their 46th Basic Academy class. I am the proud grandfather of a US Marine!

I was the POIC of all cyclic facilities maintenance taking place aboard the base. The tour was cut short as my wife could not, or would not, adjust to being overseas. Although I was a primary selectee for promotion to BU1, I took my discharge in August, 1978.

I was reassigned from the 31st NCR to NCTC where I was assigned to the Builder school. I was a Class 'A' school instructor and taught basic classes in various construction skills and techniques. I was the Primary Instructor in the Advanced Base Structures (ABS) Phase.

I arrived at the 31st Naval Construction Regiment for instructor duty and was assigned to the Military Training Department, Weapons Section where I instructed classes and conducted live fires with all the weapons in the Seabee battalions, I was the Primary Instructor on the 81mm mortar. My best assignment ever!

Initially I worked, as part of a crew, on various construction projects. I was on detachments at Naval Inshore Warfare Center, White Beach, Okinawa, and NAVFAC Ramey, Puerto Rico. I was then selected to serve as the battalion Drug Abuse Education Specialist. I attended the DAES'C' school in San Diego and served in that capacity until I transferred out of the battalion in '75.

I deployed with NMCB-3, serving as the battalion Drug Abuse Education Specialist and served in that capacity until I PCS out of the unit in September, 1975. I designed and implemented the commands drug abuse prevention program, provided training to enforcement personnel and training to the entire command as well as personnel of NAVSTA Diego Garcia.

I was assigned to various projects around NAVSTA Roosevelt Roads before being selected for a detachment at NAVFAC Ramey. We were putting in fences to secure the NAVFAC after the former Ramey AFB was turned back to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

I joined NMCB 3 mid-deployment and was assigned as a Builder in Charlie Company. I worked on a crew on various projects until I was sent as half of a 2 man detachment to the Naval Inshore Warfare Center, White Beach Okinawa.

I deployed with NMCB 3 to Danang, where the battalion sent detachments to various sites through I Corps Tactical Zone. I was on detachments to Phu Bai twice and once to An Hoa Regimental Combat Base, where we were given 1 week to put in a C130 capable airfield. We did it in 5 days.
